"Gardening and growing has been a lifelong journey for me – a way to defocus and consider simple delights, like warm sun on your back as you dig, birdsong and green shoots breaking the surface. Life has sometimes been complicated and stressful; the allotment has been a welcome sanctuary with welcoming friends, simple pleasures and a reward for hard working. My little shed has seen better days; it leans, it smells and it leaks – but it is a wonderful place to be."
