Bearded oaks, twisted sinewed
honeysuckle, grappling light,
A rain forest canopy
spreading far to side valley
A jungle paradise of
moss clad lime-washed trunks.

Jugular stones and sprouting ferns
Concealing glossy holly
decomposing butter roots
Of damp birch,
pockets of sweet chestnut
Bulbous trunk, everlasting Ivy.

Rampant rush and sedge,
low brambles with cloaked beeches,
Rill-trickling dappled buttercups
Amongst spiced
And earthy scents
A mingled green paradise.
